Route DK GRWould you like to wake up to the sound of a babbling brook, or the small wavelets on a lake or the sound of a woodpecker making a hole in a tree?

It’s all possible when you join me on my trip from Denmark to Greece, where you will have a changing scenery every single day. I decided not to fly anymore and instead take my bicycle with trailer and tent. After all, life is more than sailing. Click on map to see the route in RideWithGPS

The route is about 3.800km from start to finish and we’ll take it in small parts of 60km per day with a 3 days biking, one day rest routine.

Altogether it takes three months to get to my boat again.

As you can see on the map, we’ll pass through Denmark, Germany, Czech Republic, Austria, Italy, Greece.

Places to stay depend on the situation. In principle I use my tent (stealth camping), but certainly also addresses via WarmShowers and the like and an occasional ho(s)tel or camping.

If you live not too far from the route, I would love to meet you and pitch my tent in your back garden, and we can have a coffee or a beer.

Perhaps you would like to accompany me in the coming days.

BTW, if you have any suggestions for the route, please tell me.

The start of the whole endeavour is on the 5th of April, I count on being in Pylos, on my sailboat, at the end of June.

If you are interested in joining the whole trip or some parts, contact me here and we’ll discuss your plans. You don’t need to have a supercycle level. It’s not the Tour de France or the Giro d’Italia. We only make 60km a day on average and have a resting day about once every three days.

PS in case you like to join me, you have to realize that electric bicycles have some challenges. While stealth camping, what we mostly prefer to do, there is not too many trees with outlets :)
